France’s Total Eren and Norway’s NBT have signed a EUR 155 million financing deal together with the EBRD for the first phase of construction of a wind farm in southern Ukraine that is set to become the country’s largest renewable energy project.

The signing ceremony took place at a special session of Ukraine’s National Investment Council at Ukraine House in Davos.

The 250MW Syvash wind farm project in Ukraine’s Kherson region close to the country’s southern coastline is set to involve an overall investment of EUR 380 million and will feature 64 Nordex wind turbines in total located on 1300 hectares of land.

It will be the largest single renewable energy project in Ukraine and reflects heightened international investor interest in the Ukrainian renewables sector.
