The owner and president of DCH Group, Oleksandr Yaroslavsky, has confirmed his intention to modernize Dnipro International Airport. "DCH has unique experience in integrated airport management. In Kharkiv, we built everything from scratch. After developing the project step-by-step, we are now winning awards and receiving international recognition. We will apply this experience and knowledge in Dnipro with pleasure. The region is interesting and has huge potential. It will be an impressive and very strategically important project for Ukraine as a whole. I have already discussed a roadmap for the next stages of the project with the relevant interested parties and am now ready to move forward,” Yaroslavsky commented on 14 March.
The redevelopment of Dnipro International Airport would be DCH Group’s second major airport project. As part of Ukraine’s preparations to co-host the Euro 2012 football championship, DCH Group formed a public-private partnership to complete an extensive reconstruction and upgrade of Kharkiv International Airport. The project, which involved the construction of new terminal buildings and transformation of the adjacent area, involved over USD 107 million in investment by DCH Group owner Yaroslavsky. According to ACI EUROPE, Kharkiv International Airport was among Europe’s passenger growth leaders in 2016 among the 5 million and fewer category, with an annual increase in passengers of over 60%.
