Dragon Capital and Goldman Sachs Group have received the green light from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to proceed with the purchase of the Aladdin shopping and entertainment complex and adjacent Platinum business center in Kyiv’s Darnitskiy region. Britain’s Meyer Bergman had earlier acquired the 10,500 square meter Aladdin complex in 2008 in a deal worth an estimated USD 60 million.

This is the latest in a series of major retail real estate purchases by Dragon Capital in recent years in Kyiv and in regions across Ukraine, including the summer 2018 acquisition of Sky Park mall in Vinnytsia. Dragon Capital officials have said the purchases are in response to the growing purchasing power of the Ukrainian population.
