The Head of the Kharkiv Region State Administration Yulia Svitlychna paid a visit to the Kharkiv Tractor Plant on 7 June to assess progress since production restarted following last year’s standstill.
The Kharkiv Governor said new plant owner Oleksandr Yaroslavsky was meeting targets set for the reboot of the iconic industrial facility. “Due to the support of the President of Ukraine and the investor, we have been able to launch the legendary Kharkiv Tractor Plant. We can now say with confidence that there are orders, there will be work, and we can look to the future with confidence. The enterprise is working and developing in the right direction,” commented Governor Svitlychna.
According to Kharkiv Tractor Plant Director General Andriy Koval, the plant established a new monthly record in May for the production of spare parts. Output reached more the UAH 14 million worth of spare parts, with additional sharp increases recorded in overall production and sales. Mr. Koval attributed this improved performance to recently introduced innovations designed to update the plant’s operations. “We aim to increase internal efficiency and are witnessing progress in all directions. This is reducing production costs and creating a climate for higher wages,” he said.
Kharkiv Tractor Plant is one of the most famous industrial giants in Ukraine. Dating back to 1930, the plant went on to play an iconic role throughout the Soviet era.
