Ukraine’s largest producer of poultry MHP has reported a 52% leap in export volumes during Q3 2018. This striking growth places the country’s poultry market leader on track for another bumper year with global demand for Ukrainian chicken showing no sign of slowing.
MHP’s strong Q3 performance brought the company’s total export volume for the first nine months of 2018 up to 213,925 tons, or 22% more than the 176,015 ton figure for the corresponding period in 2017. Company officials attribute this growth to a geographical diversification strategy that has seen MHP seek out greater market share in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia as well as the European Union.
According to Ukraine’s State Fiscal Service, the country’s overall poultry and offal exports climbed by 14.9% in the first nine months of the year to reach a total value of USD 381 million.
