Switzerland’s national carrier SWISS has announced plans to double the number of flights it offers between Zurich and the Ukrainian capital starting from the end of March 2019. The move will mean the introduction of a daily service with new flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. SWISS resumed flights to Kyiv in March 2018 following a four-year hiatus.
The rapid expansion of the airline’s renewed Ukraine flight schedule reflects broader trends within the Ukrainian aviation industry, which is currently witnessing strong passenger growth and an unprecedented influx of airlines. SWISS is one of a number of international airlines to return to the Ukrainian market following a pause during the peak of the crisis in 2014, with many new arrivals also adding Ukraine to their flight portfolios including leading budget airline Ryanair.
