Ukrainian-Chinese trade grew by USD 1.1 billion during the first eleven months of 2018 to reach USD 8.8 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of around 15%.

This follows the 18% annual growth in trade recorded in 2017 and places the two countries firmly on track to reach the USD ten billion target established by Kyiv and Beijing during recent high-level bilateral discussions.

China and Ukraine have developed a growing strategic partnership in recent years, with Ukrainian agricultural exporters in particular winning new customers in Chinese markets while China has increased investments into Ukrainian infrastructure projects.

A China-Ukraine Strategic Partnership Forum is set to take place in Beijing in April 2019.
