Ukrainian automotive producer Bogdan Corporation has completed work on the first of 15 electric trucks for household waste transportation ordered by Denmark’s Banke Electromotiv. The vehicle is now on its way to Scandinavia to undergo trials and licensing. Following certification, mass production of the fully Ukraine-designed and Ukraine-made trucks will begin at the Bogdan Corporation plant in Lutsk.
This is not the Ukrainian company’s first European Union contract for electric vehicles. Bogdan Corporation has also produced electric buses for the Czech Republic and Poland. With the EU looking to phase out diesel transport over the coming years, the Ukrainian producer is seeking to gain a foothold in the attractive electric vehicle niche.
