Ukraine’s GDP growth rate outpaced forecasts in Q2 2018 to reach 3.8%, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman. The 3.8% growth rate is significantly higher than the anticipated figure of 3% for the period. This is in line with the trend established in 2017, when Ukrainian GDP surpassed widespread expectations of 2% annual growth and rose by 2.5%.
The International Monetary Fund recently revised its 2018 GDP forecast for Ukraine upwards from 3.2% to 3.5%. Meanwhile, the National Bank of Ukraine last week confirmed that it expects the country to post GDP growth of 3.4% this year.
