Preparations are underway in the capital of eastern Ukraine for the annual Queen of Kharkiv beauty pageant, which will take place on 2 February. The traditionally glitzy event received an added touch of glamor this week with confirmation that the wife of Ukrainian business leader Oleksandr Yaroslavsky has accepted an invitation to serve on the jury.
Marina Yaroslavska broke the news to followers on her Instagram page and promised a few additional surprises on the night itself: “Friends, I have some interesting news – I was invited to serve of this year’s Queen of Kharkiv jury. Naturally, I agreed! I know this competition well as a former contestant and winner, but now I will have the opportunity to see everything from the other side as one of the judges. I am so excited!”
While an undergraduate student, Marina Yaroslavska won a number of beauty pageant titles including Miss Model and Deputy Queen of Kharkiv. She appears to be taking her jury duties seriously and has already introduced “Queen of Charm” as an additional category for finalists to compete over. Ms. Yaroslavska has also hinted at news of a major star who will perform at the event. While refusing to name names, she posted news of “a very special (and very well known) guest whose name will only be revealed on the day of the final itself.” Speculation over the identity of this mystery guest is likely to continue until the 2 February pageant. Confirmed performers include the all-girl duo “NeAngeli” and Vadim Yatsun. Ms. Yaroslavska promised fans that the unnamed star would be “even cooler than the acts already confirmed!”
Her jury role at this year’s Queen of Kharkiv event will be the latest appearance in the limelight for Marina. She celebrated her thirtieth birthday in November 2017 with a gala party at the five-star Premier Palace Hotel Kharkiv that attracted nationwide TV coverage. She has also previously topped national ratings of the most beautiful wives of wealthy Ukrainians.
